ABOUT ME:

My name is Ricardo Esplugas de Oliveira and I have produced all the resources for this website. I have been working in science teaching for more than 20 years, in Brazil, Spain and also in the UK.

I have worked as an associate tutor and also as an IT trainer at Sussex University during 6 years. I also have secondary school teaching experience, in both the UK and Brazil. More recently (2021-2022) I worked as a physics teacher at St Paul´s school in São Paulo/SP.

I am now focusing on producing resources for online learning and private tuition.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: I hold degrees in Physics (University of Sao Paulo-Brazil) and Chemistry (Sussex University-Brighton-UK). I have also done a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) and a PhD in Physical Chemistry (both at Sussex University).

I have also done other teaching courses like the "Further Education Teachers’ Certificate", City and Guilds 7307 (at Westminster College-London) and also the "Sussex Associate Tutors and Demonstrators Teacher Training Programme" (at Sussex University).

More recently I was trained to teach IB physics and I completed the:

I am Spanish/Brazilian and I hold qualifications in English language which include GCSE (Brighton and Hove City College-UK) and Cambridge Proficiency in English (CPE) (Cambridge University -UK).
