## Work and energy

Work is defined as the energy needed to move a certain distance against a force.

**Example**

1)What is the work done by lifting a 50 kg object 10 meters from the ground?

The force in this case is the weight:

F= weight= m*g=50*10=500N

To get the work it is needed to multiply by the distance;

W=500*10= 5000 J
