PRESERVATION: We aim to preserve the are we are in: the trees, plants, animals, rivers, inhabitants, etc......

Although very close to the beaches (~4km) we are located inside the forest called MATA ATLANTICA, which is being destroyed at a very high pace and receives very little attention, probably because it is not as famous as the Amazon forest, which draws concerns worldwide.

There are dozens of species of mammals that are under theat (various species of monkeys, for instance), many of which are not known in Europe or North America, trees, fishes and birds.

Since we have established ourselves in the area, the depredation has stopped (at least on the space we can watch). No more killing of mammals, no more cutting the trees that have the most strong and beautiful wood.

Active Preservation Projects

1) Preservation of trees under threat: that include coconut piacava and arruda trees.

2) Inviting people, from Brazil and from abroad, to visit our area and to engage in preservation.

3) Encourage people that share our ideals to acquire land in the sorrounding area, so that we can extend the area of preservation. We provide orientation to people (brazilian or foreign that wants to acquire land around our site).

4) Monitoring of the surrounding area to stop depredation, uncontrolled hunting, carelless rubish disposal etc.

Preservation Projects to be implemented

1) Preservation of animals of the local forests , by providing a safe environment and also adequate breeding spaces.

2) Study of medicinal plants in cooperation with local native indians.
