Complaint against building works of very low standard
-Council officers telling surveyors to neglect my correspondance

Dear Caroline Price
I am very dissatisfied with this situation where the Council seems to recommend third parties to neglect my concerns, by simply ignoring my letters.
The telephone number for Dunlop Haywards, which was written in the Council “newsletter” is non-existent. Being impossible to call, I tried to write a letter, which was deliberately neglected. I cannot understand why Council officers encourage this sort of attitude.
You state in your letter dated 14/12/05 that the reason for recommending DH to ignore my letters was that I was writing “a significant amount of correspondence”. I must tell you that I had to write many times because I was not receiving any reply. I wait two or three weeks, and if no reply is provided I write again, which I found very unfortunate. I WISH I DIDN’T HAVE TO WRITE SO MANY TIMES IN ORDER TO GET A REPLY, because this activity costs me time and money. If the Council or DH had given attention to my first letter “a significant amount of correspondence” would not exist.
In fact, I didn’t receive a reply from Council or from DH until I contacted the Council complaints officer.
Even more unfortunate was the fact that another “ significant amount of correspondence” was necessary in order to get the contractors to replace the broken tiles they had fitted on the roof.
I would like to know the name of the Council officer who recommended DH to ignore my letters and when did this decision took place.
Secondly, I am very dissatisfied with the problems with loose tiles, spots on the wall and others that have been described in previous letters. I tried to keep costs down for the Council, by insisting in getting these problems fixed, but now I have realized that I have no other option than taking this matter to a Court of Justice.
I must also inform that the paint splatters on the external wall, which you mentioned in your letter dated 14/12/05, haven’t been touched. I am still waiting for these to be sorted. There is also a large black spot in the internal wall, which was shown to you during your visits to my flat. That one is also waiting to be cleared. I understand that my door was not supposed to be painted; what I am trying to say is that there are paint splatters on it.
Finally, I am still concerned about the incident of the two men entering my property using a ladder, without giving any warning.
I haven’t received an apology or an assurance that this will not happen again. Breyer, the contractor, has stated that these two men don’t work for them and that they are not aware of such “job” taking place at this time. I need to know to whom these men work ,so that I can write a formal complaint to the people responsible. I hope you can help me with that.
I hope you can provide me with the information I am asking in this letter and also to take the appropriate action.
I look forward to hearing from you soon,
Yours Sincerely
Ricardo O Esplugas
