Re: 22nd July 2006 TESCO Platinum Credit Card stopped

Dear Mr Gareth ,

Further to your letter dated 11th September 2006 and as I do not have a reply to my letter dated 17th September 06, I am writing to request a reply from you regarding my compensation request.

Further to my telephone call to your customer services today from 3:53pm till 4:40pm, I finally managed to talk to you in person and learned that you still don’t have my letter dated 17th September 06. As I explained to you, this is my forth letter and still do not have a satisfactory resolution to my complaint.

As we talked, we mentioned compensation for the inconvenience caused. You offered £15 after consulting with colleagues and team leader. As I declined this offer, you asked me how much will I be happy to accept and I said at least £100; you had to consult again and came back with a £25 final offer that I also declined.
The reason I wrote to you on the first place is because on my telephone call to customer services as I was told that I had to put it in writing as they were only prepared to pay for my telephone call charges and I was asking to be compensated for all the aggravation caused. I declined your offer because I do not think it is appropriate at all having in mind the type of situation I’ve been due to using your card and contacting your customer services. I believe your offer of £25 does not compensate for the amount of inconvenience and distress that I believe you have caused by leaving me with no means of payment in a foreign country.
I also believe that you have failed to use information held about me for my own interest (compliance with the Data Protection Act) as I mentioned to you.

I am posting all previous letters (3 encl) for your immediate attention (22 August, 9 September, 17 September 2006)

I will wait until Monday 16th October 2006 for you (TESCO Personal Finance) to reconsider your offer of £25.

I look forward to hearing from you before Monday 16th October 2006.
Yours sincerely,

J
